The Kiddos

It's hard to believe Jaxon turned 2 on December 18th and Jaylyn will turn 4 on February 22nd and I'll turn the big 3-0 on March 5th! I think I'll handle it ok, but we'll see, I've only got a few more months to say I'm in my 20's!

Jaxon is doing great. He is walking really well, probably about 20 feet at a time and he is lovin' it! He has been sick but since I've had him back on his Reliv he has been doing much better. His physical therapist is going to be so surprised that he is walking because in November he was only scooting along furniture and he started "walking" in the first part of December. He still is not saying many words but he does try to communicate. Yo Gabba Gabba and Dora are his favorite cartoons, he gets so excited when they come on. I can't keep pants on him because he dances back and forth and he pushes them off with his feet. He yells at the tv when Swiper the fox comes out. Keeping dishes and canned food in the cabinets has become a challenge because he loves taking everything out and if he can't reach it he will crawl inside the cabinet to get it, so he has had many "no no's" lately and he does NOT like that!

His birthday...well he wasn't as excited about it as Jaylyn was. He was cranky at least until PaPa (my dad) arrived. Jaxon has such a bond with my dad more than anybody else. I remember when Jaxon was born (before we knew the diagnosis) my dad told me he didn't know what it was but that he had such a bond with Jaxon unlike anybody before. So I'm glad it's a mutual feeling, Jaxon loves for my dad to come visit and you can tell it in his eyes, it's like nobody else is in the room!

Jaylyn...well let me just say "Little Miss Jaylyn" she is very smart. She enjoys Yo Gabba Gabba, Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, Spongebob and Veggietales. She is still very tall for her age and is growing so fast. I'm planning on putting her in headstart in August and I think she is going to love it, she is very very social! We went to Branson for a week after Christmas, went to SilverDollar City and Jaylyn had her moment of stardom. We watched a skit and the kids got to go sit on the stage with Frosty or at least all of them sat besides Jaylyn! She was the center of attention! Frosty came alive and started moving toward her and she ran off the stage, then she ran back and never would sit back down. The crowd was laughing at her. After the skit was over all the kids ran off the stage back to their parents but not Jaylyn, I guess she thought she needed a little more attention and pulled out the water works because Frosty was gone. She cried to the actress and she kept hugging her. Drama, drama, drama, it was hilarious! It only gets better...so at the end of the night there was a Christmas parade (also at SilverDollar City), Jaylyn got up front so she could see, a toy soldier (she calls The Nutcracker) led the parade and he came right over to Jaylyn and said, "Hey, didn't I see you at the Frosty show?" She said, "Yes" and he said "Yeah I thought so!" He was the postman in the Frosty show, she obviously made an impression because he remembered her out of about 50 kids! Singing and dancing her a few of her favorite things to do so I'm sure we'll find a stage for her soon. She loves to eat "kickin" (chicken) and "butwins" (dumplins), I have to get her saying that on video because it is one of the funniest things ever! Compromising is another thing she tries to do, I can't just tell her stuff anymore because she always has an alternative solution for everything. She knows that if Walmart does not have any candy left that we can always go somewhere else and instead of taking a bath when she needs to she'll just say, "mmm...maybe tomorrow" because she has heard me say that to her before she thinks she can say it to me. Earlier today she wanted some ice put in her drink and I started singing "ice ice baby" she didn't like it and told me that she was not a baby! I also have to wait outside of the bathroom stall...she's growing up way too fast!

We had a great Christmas. Santa didn't bring everything on Jaylyn's list but did bring what was most important, the Barbie Jam Jeep and the radio actually works! Jaxon also got a little car and a few other things, he didn't need much especially since he just had a birthday. Nathan surprised me with a diamond ring and he got a new fly fishing reel. We went to Branson for a week with Nathan's family and had a great time, I was sooo ready to go somewhere other than Norman and Ada!

Jaylyn has already told me that she wants a Carebear or My Little Pony birthday but she hasn't said what she wants yet she probably hasn't thought about it because all she could think about for the past 3 months was that Barbie Jam Jeep!
